Boone, North Carolina is a vacation destination for many in the eastern U.S. It is rich in history, from the Cherokee Indians, the early American settlers (including Daniel Boone for whom the town was named), and Appalachian State University, recently ranked number 27 in the "Top 100" by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance as the “Best Value” among the nation’s public colleges and universities.
